A ‘64 Rambler Classic four-door. Sky-blue. I think the (crazy) owner is trying to get five figures for it, which... most likely no. Still, though, d on’t see them that often. He thought it was a Falcon at first.

I spend way too much time looking at ads for 60s cars, and I see a lot of sedans in the $ 15- 25k range. It’s bats hit. I think sellers are using 2 door hardtops as comps to set pricing.
The counterpoint to that, though, is that the 4 doors are mostly survivors. No one restores or modifies them, so they’re much more WYSIWYG than a convertible or muscle car.
But 5 figures is still a bit silly IMHO.

Someone once described a Studebaker to me as a slightly better-tuned Rambler.

Seems like an expression that would get funnier and more quaint the more years separate us from either brand being A Thing.

There was a guy where I grew up who stayed with Studebakers waaaay longer than he should have, probably 20+ years after the company went OOB. Had a Lark, a Lark Wagonaire and another one I don’t remember. I think I went away to college, and hadn’t been down to that part of our street in maybe 3 or 4 years. He’d replaced his Studebakers with ... guess what?
An AMC Pacer, a Pacer wagon (with fake wood trim) and a Hornet. I shit you not.
